Innate Spellcasting. The Aurigrex's spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell save DC 17). The Aurigrex can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components:
At will: Charm Person, Minor Illusion, Suggestion
3/day each: Invisibility, Major Image, Dimension Door
1/day each: Dominate Person, Plane Shift (self only)
Contract of Avaricia. The Aurigrex can offer a contract to grant power or wealth in exchange for a soul. The contract always comes with a serious drawback unknown to the signer.
Shapechanger. The Aurigrex can use its action to polymorph into a humanoid it has seen, or back into its true form. Its statistics, other than its size, are the same in each form. Any equipment it is wearing or carrying isn't transformed. It reverts to its true form if it dies.
Multiattack. The Aurigrex makes two attacks with its ensnaring whip.
Ensnaring Whip. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d10 + 3) slashing damage, and the target must succeed on a DC 17 Strength saving throw or be pulled up to 10 feet toward the Aurigrex.
This Aurigrex is designed as a cunning and persuasive being, adept at deception and manipulation. Its spellcasting abilities and shapechanging nature make it an effective negotiator and trickster. Its combat abilities, while not its focus, are sufficient to defend itself or control a situation, and its ability to plane shift ensures it can escape if necessary. The Contract of Avaricia ability represents its core function of tempting mortals with power or wealth at a hidden cost.
