DESCRIPTION
Zephyros appears, most of the time, as whatever you most want to trust. He is a shapeshifter by nature — able to take the form of any humanoid he has observed — and he chooses his forms with deliberate, studied precision. In his true form he is a lean, fine-featured devil with an almost theatrical elegance: sharp-dressed, composed, and carrying himself with the easy confidence of someone who has never lost a negotiation. His eyes are the tell — too still, too watchful, and showing a faint recognition that goes beyond what a stranger should know about you.

HABITAT & RANGE
Zephyros has no fixed territory. He goes where souls are at a crossroads — cities in crisis, border towns after wars, individuals at the lowest or most desperate points of their lives. He has been documented in [Irna](Irna/Welcome to Irna), primarily in trade cities and near military outposts, but he ranges across the world as opportunity dictates. He is a lesser devil climbing the infernal hierarchy, and ambition drives his itinerary more than geography.
BEHAVIOR
Patient, charming, and utterly ruthless beneath the pleasantness. Zephyros does not coerce — he persuades. He identifies what a target desires, presents himself as a benefactor who can provide it, and produces a contract that appears to offer everything while delivering exactly what the fine print states. He is not above threats or intimidation when charm fails, but he prefers not to — forced deals make less satisfied souls, and satisfied souls are more cooperative in the afterlife arrangements he engineers.
He is currently working to climb the ranks of the infernal hierarchy. Every soul he collects is a step. He is particularly focused on those who are desperate or at a genuine crossroads — their willingness to sign makes the collection clean and tidy.
THREAT & DEFENSE
Moderately dangerous in direct combat but formidable in social and magical interaction. His charm magic and disguise abilities make him nearly impossible to identify until he chooses to be known. His Infernal Contract ability, if allowed to complete, binds a soul permanently. In combat he relies on Charisma-based magic — charms, suggestions, illusions — and his mobility via fly speed. He has strong magic resistance and immunity to fire and poison. He is not a front-line combatant and will disengage rather than risk destruction, as he values his continued existence considerably more than any single contract.
WORLD CONTEXT
Zephyros's contracts are intricate documents written in Infernal, appearing to offer far more than they deliver. They always claim the signer's soul upon death; the benefits offered in life vary enormously. Some signers receive wealth, power, or solutions to unsolvable problems. Some receive what they asked for in terms that destroy what they actually wanted. He is not uniquely powerful among devils, but he is uniquely careful — his name carries weight among those who deal in such matters precisely because he honors the letter of his contracts, no matter how the spirit was deceived.

- Infernal Contract (1/Day): Zephyros presents a contract to one creature within 5 feet. If the target willingly signs, their soul is bound to Zephyros upon their death. Contract terms are determined by the DM and are always technically fulfilled and never spiritually so.
