The Village Constabulary

Stone building on or near the village square. Houses the sheriff's office, living quarters, holding cells, and storage. Standard layout across most Irnan villages.

Rooms

  • Sheriff's Office — front room, central desk, bookshelf with law records and wanted notices, fireplace
  • Living Quarters — bedroom, sitting area, washroom (sheriff's private residence)
  • Holding Cells — two cells, iron bars, sturdy locks; each has a cot, bucket, and stool; small high window
  • Storage — chains, manacles, backup weapons and shields

Staff

Role Notes
Sheriff / Constable Appointed or elected. Responsible for enforcement, arrests, and local law
Deputies 1–3 depending on settlement size; patrol, assist with arrests
Jailer Manages the holding cells when occupied

Staffing varies. Small villages may have only a sheriff with no deputies. Larger settlements may have a full constabulary roster.
